What is Monle?

Got a great idea for a project that could use Monle? Send us an e-mail.

Monle (MAH-nul) is a four-track, "non-linear" sound-recorder and editor for the iPhone, iPad, and certain versions of the iPod touch.

Monle gives you the portable power to produce radio stories, interviews, sound pieces, and even music.

Monle and American Public Media

Because of its promise for getting the power of audio production into the hands of more people, APM has partnered with the developer of Monle to help explore the potential for journalism and creative content.

APM does not own Monle, and did not develop it, though we receive a small portion of the revenue from each purchase. For technical support, please visit http://MonleApp.com (a non-APM site).

Do I need an iPhone to participate?

No. You can answer our "calls" for audio using any software or hardware you like, including Mac-based programs like GarageBand or free PC-based sound editors like Audacity. Then you can upload your completed audio to us using the form below.

What can I work on?

Here are the calls for audio we have out right now:

If you're using Monle, you can specify the call once you are ready to upload your mix (click the "American Public Media" button"). If you are producing with another program, upload your audio file using this form:
