| Description: | Summary: The Forum Technical Director is a member of the Broadcasting Department's Technical Director Team. The position's primary focus/responsibility is the technical planning, coordination, & operation of the broadcasts, recordings, & live events at MPR's UBS Forum facility. This position will work w/the Broadcasting Department & will collaborate w/colleagues both within and outside of the department to maintain the technical quality of UBS Forum events, broadcasts, technical systems & the performance space. This position will also serve as a general member of the Technical Director team, backing up fellow team members & performing audio production & technical services for MPR outside of the UBS Forum. Additionally, the Technical Director will evaluate the need to supplement events in the UBS Forum with fellow team member's expertise/assistance. The Forum Technical Director is present during strategic planning meetings w/all levels of MPR management and must maintain the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality. Req's: - BA or equiv exp. - 5+ yrs exp as a broadcast, recording, sound reinforcement engineer, or theatrical sound design. - Exp operating and maintaining public address systems - Operational exp w/satellite uplink/downlink equipment; rf transmission remote control gear. - Computer literate w/exp using PC and Mac platforms. - Solid background in electronics, audiovisual systems, audio systems signal flow and basic electronics wiring. - Posses a thorough knowledge and experience of field recording and sound reinforcement & studio recording, post production, & "live" broadcast procedures & protocols. - Highly creative/innovative w/significant professional experience in the content creation process. - Operational expertise of audio signal processing equipment; to include equalizers, compressors, limiters, de-esser's, AD/DA converters, outboard equipment, etc. For a complete job desc, email careers@americanpublicmedia.org. |
