| Description: | The Account Executive is responsible for securing new funders for Southern California Public Radio's news and information public radio service, 89.3 KPCC FM and 89.1, KUOR FM, KPCV 90.3 FM to meet new income targets. Service, renew and increase funding levels of current clients to meet both new income and renewal rate targets (if applicable). Assist with other development and marketing activities as assigned. 89.3 KPCC, 89.1 KUOR and 90.3 KPCV, provide news and information programming drawing on the best of National Public Radio and Public Radio International and a growing staff of news and radio professionals covering Southern California, its people, events and issues. - Identify new underwriting prospects using broadcast, print and online media; trade publications (marketing, advertising, industry specific); and business contacts. - Prepare written and in-person presentations designed to meet prospect needs and resources. - Identify and execute appropriate prospect cultivation that results in sales cycle closure. - Communicate new business results to Vice President. Generate reports to show income generated from prospect conversions. (Weekly and/or monthly.) - Work with prospects and internal staff to prepare effective and acceptable underwriting credits. - Participate in the creation and/or revision of sales and marketing materials. - Identify online sponsorship and advertising opportunities for both current clients and prospects. - Utilize and help improve support systems such as traffic, billing, contact management, Arbitron, Qualitap, Tapscan, etc. - Represent Southern California Public Radio with integrity, professionalism, respect and mature judgment. Req's: - BA or equiv experience - Min 2 years sales experience in broadcasting or other media. - Proven track record of successfully meeting income targets through both prospecting and client upgrades. - Exp in public radio preferred. |
